Business Manager

The Role

We are seeking a Business Manager to plan, direct, and assist in coordinating the operations at Foxhollow Farm, including managing and balancing daily business accounting, payroll, financial systems, and human resources.

Foxhollow Farm is a thriving Biodynamic farm community providing healthy food, hands on learning and a place where people can experience an earth friendly working farm.  Foxhollow Farm is committed to raising high-quality grass fed beef using sustainable animal friendly farming practices.  We value self-development, teamwork and integrity and achieve this daily through our established culture and community that live and work on the farm.

Who We Are Looking For

This position will report to and work closely with the Proprietors on a daily basis.  Ideal candidates will be positive, hardworking and resourceful team players who will help move the vision and mission of Foxhollow Farm forward.

Responsibilities To Include

  • Provide timely and accurate financial statements to owners.
  • Process payroll, and maintain all office-related filing and recordkeeping.
  • Maintain payables.
  • Reconcile all bank accounts.
  • Provide HR resources and support to all employees and managers.
  • Maintain all files and records related to financials and human resources.
  • Develop and review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement, and assist in determining areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
  • Coordinate organization's financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency.
  • Maintain daily accounting functions.
  • Implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with owners, and staff members as necessary.
  • Improve Human Resources services; assist in staffing requirements; interview, hire and ensure that new employees are onboarded and trained. Also oversee personnel processes and procedures.
  • Forecasting as needed for budgeting and owner assistance.

Traits Of An Ideal Candidate

  • Four (4) year Bachelor's Degree, preferably in finance/accounting and knowledge of human resources management is preferred.
  • At least 10 plus years of experience in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of accounting software, specifically QuickBooks and/or QuickBooks Pro, as well as MS Office.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources.
  • Knowledge of basic principles and procedures for personnel functions, such as recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits.
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and practices, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data, as well as accounting software and handling cash.
  • Clear and effective written and oral communication.
  • Ability to be organized, self-motivated, and to produce accurate information in specific formats.

Physical Demands

  • Required to talk, hear, read.
  • Sit a desk and perform computer work for long periods of time.
  • Stand and stoop; lift files boxes.
  • In a quiet office environment.

Temporary Event Contractor - Bar Manager

Foxhollow Farm is a family run farm in Crestwood KY. Our mission is to create a thriving Biodynamic farm community. We raise 100% grassfed beef and are dedicated to growing healthy food and strengthening the relationship between human beings and nature.

Summary: To support our mission, Foxhollow Farm hosts events at the farm and invites our area community. We are seeking an organized, enthusiastic, energetic leader to manage the bar and its staff at our popular Sunset Concert Series and additional events.  Concert Series events take place the second Friday evening of the month from May-September with additional event dates listed below. The candidate must be available to work all events for the season.

Duties & Responsibilities may include:

  • Complete set up and breakdown of three bars at each event
  • Train and monitor 5 bartenders
  • Positively motivate team members to perform at a high level of service and efficiency
  • Monitor and ensure bar team makes drinks to specification and is following service standards
  • Manage bar team to ensure the responsible service of alcohol to guests
  • Manage bar team schedule and organize breaks during events
  • Maintain a positive, friendly attitude with co-workers and guests
  • Manage tills: count money in and out at each concert, monitor, and request change from Business Manager as needed
  • Manage inventory: conduct counts at open and close of each concert
  • Monitor bar stock during events, restock as needed
  • Monitor and anticipate the needs of a high-volume bar before and during events; step in and support bar team however necessary, acting as a supporting bar-back as needed
  • Follow all proper sanitation guidelines
  • Work with Event & Sales Coordination Associate to ensure beverage sponsor deliverables are provided as promised
  • Assist with/and execute any and all tasks assigned by Event & Sales Coordinator Associate
  • Observe customers for signs of overconsumption of alcohol; alert Event & Sales Coordination Associate in such instances
  • Familiar with Oldham County liquor sales ordinance and laws

Key Qualities:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older and provide a valid driver’s license
  • Strong multi-tasking ability

  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently and calmly in times of high stress

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of bartending, restaurant, catering and event experience required
  • Experience in management and customer service preferred
  • Ability to do basic math calculations
  • Must demonstrate previous participation in an Oldham County approved Safe Serving class (no more than 3 years prior) or attend an approved Safe Serving class before the first event

Physical Demands and Appearance:

  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods at a time
  • Lift and carry up to 35lbs
  • A provided Foxhollow Farm concert t-shirt may be required; otherwise Foxhollow Farm representatives are expected to dress in a professional manner.

This is a contract labor position. Pay negotiated commensurate with experience. Event dates are May 12th, June 8th, June 24th, July 14th, August 11th, September 8th, October 1st with potential dates added.

2017 Temporary Event Contractor - Bartender

We are seeking an organized, enthusiastic and energetic person to tend bar at our popular Sunset Concert Series and additional events.  Concert Series events take place the second Friday evening of the month from May-September with additional event dates listed below.  The candidate must be available to work all events of the season. We are looking for someone with a lot of passion who can demonstrate the down-home friendliness and authenticity associated with our farm.  

Responsibilities include:

  • Set up and break down of bar station
  • Consistently prepare drinks to recipe specifications
  • Quickly calculate total bills, take appropriate money and make change for customers
  • Know and be able to describe all bar product i.e. beer names, styles, wine varietals, cocktail profiles
  • Verify all guests are at least 21 years of age
  • Maintain a positive, friendly attitude with co-workers and guests
  • Sell beverages responsibly with customer’s best interest in mind
  • Report inventory needs in a timely fashion to Bar Manager
  • Maintain an organized and clean work station
  • Serve customers quickly and efficiently
  • Communicate clearly with team and with customers
  • Follow all proper sanitation guidelines
  • Assist with/execute any and all tasks as assigned by bar manager and Event Sales & Coordination Associate

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods at a time
  • Lift and carry up to 35lbs
  • A provided Foxhollow Farm concert t-shirt may be required; otherwise Foxhollow Farm representatives are expected to dress in a professional manner

This is a contract labor position

Pay is $9 per hour plus tips. Event dates are May 12th, June 9th, June 24th, July 14th, August 11th, September 8th, September 17th, October 1st  with potential dates added. Bar manager reserves the right to cut shifts based on concert attendance and weather.

2017 Temporary Event Contractor

Responsibilities include: 

  • Assist Foxhollow staff and vendors with set up and tear down of booths, bars
  • Assist with parking guests, under direction from lead parker
  • Set up, maintain, and tear down trash and recycling stations at established locations throughout event
  • Set up and tear down signage, activities stage materials as needed
  • Be prepared to run errands for supplies at event if needed
  • Assist and answer questions about the event/farm from our guests
  • Represent the farm courteously, with friendliness and professionalism
  • Communicate positively and effectively
  • Assist with/execute other duties assigned by Event Sales & Coordination Associate

Key Qualities:

  • Must be 18 years of age and provide a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to move quickly between various tasks
  • Positive, can-do attitude
  • Responsible, punctual, dependable
  • Strong communication skills; must be able to speak, read and understand English.
  • Ability to take direction and take initiative

Education/Experience:

  • Food service, event, or customer service experience required

Pay is $11 per hour or a $50 minimum per concert.  Event dates are May 12th, June 9th, June 24th, July 14th, August 11th, September 8th, September 17th, October 1st , with potential dates added. Estimated 4-6 work hours per concert.
