2018 Fall Festival
It was an extremely hot Sunday in late June when I decided it was time to plant pumpkins for our annual Fall Festival. I was determined to get the seeds in the ground before the fourth of July and had found my window.
Early that morning, Pavel lent us his Perfecta field cultivator and Benton graciously plowed the final round while our son, Miles, watched with glee as the tractor passed by us. We were under the shade of a maple tree stirring a Biodynamic Preparation, BD 500, to give the soil an extra boost
I can still smell the earthiness of that summer rain whenever I step into the pumpkin patch to check on our fall crop.
It is now October, the pumpkins are bright orange and ready to be picked just in time for our 11th Annual Fall Festival. I am anxiously anticipating a gloriously cool fall day for this year’s festival, held on Saturday, October 13th 10am-6pm. We have new and exciting games such as our Foxy Bowling and Spider Toss. My Mom has been cutting silks for the past month, preparing to tie-dye with some of our biggest Fall Festival fans. Brian has cut the corn maze and farm kids have tested his geometric engineering.
Thank You, Sponsors and Partners
This year’s festival, benefiting Dare to Care Food Bank along with my family farm, is sure to be a fantastic fall event! We could not host such an incredible Fall Festival without the support of over 180 volunteers, the foxhollow team, our farm families, and the generous support from our 2018 sponsors.
A special shout out to our event planning partner Olio Event Group!
