Job Title: Seasonal Grounds Crew

Reports to: Derek Lawson, Head Herdsman & Farm Manager

Job Summary: 

The Seasonal Ground Crew supports the daily operations of Foxhollow Farm through livestock care, pasture management, hay production, and general farm maintenance. This role works closely with the Head Herdsman and farm team to support rotational grazing systems, assist during calving season, maintain fences and equipment, and help keep the farm functioning smoothly throughout the growing season.

This is a hands-on outdoor role ideal for someone interested in regenerative agriculture, livestock stewardship, and learning practical farm skills.

Job Duties & Responsibilities 

Cattle & Pasture Management

• Assist with rotational grazing and daily cattle moves

• Move temporary fencing and manage grazing infrastructure

• Support calving season monitoring and assistance when needed

• Distribute minerals and monitor herd health

• Assist with general livestock chores and pasture observation

Hay Production

• Work as part of the haying team during cutting, raking, baling, and storage

• Assist with moving and stacking hay bales

• Help maintain hay fields and related equipment

Farm Infrastructure & Maintenance

• Perform general upkeep and maintenance of farm buildings, equipment, and grounds

• Assist with fence repair and installation

• Support mechanical maintenance and routine farm equipment care

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of barns, shops, and work areas

• Safely operate mowing equipment to maintain roadsides and general farm grounds

Seasonal Farm Projects

• Assist with farm improvement projects as needed

• Support general farm operations during busy seasonal periods

•  Assist with seasonal garden and crop production—including sorghum sudan grass corn maze, pumpkins, and a pick-your-own flower field—ensuring these highly visible areas are well maintained and cared for.

Skills & Requirements

• Strong work ethic and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with the farm team

• Interest in regenerative agriculture, livestock, and land stewardship

• Comfortable performing physical labor and farm tasks

• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs

• Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and work for extended periods

• Valid driver’s license preferred

• Previous farm or mechanical experience is a plus but not required

Hours, Pay & Timeline

• Start Date: asap 

• Hours: Part-time employee, approximately 30 hours per week. 

• Pay: $15/hour starting wage
