The Story of the Stones at Foxhollow Farm
In 2007, we were introduced to the work of Marko Pogacnik, a Slovenian artist who has dedicated his life and art to a practice he calls “Earth Healing.” As part of this practice, Marko developed a unique method, Lithopuncture, which uses the strategic placement of limestone pillars to function like acupuncture for the Earth. Just as the human body has meridians – energy channels that, when blocked, can lead to weakness or disease – the Earth has its own energy pathways. When these channels become obstructed, the vitality of the soil and plant life diminishes, causing certain sites to feel empty and lifeless.
By invitation, Marko soon visited Foxhollow Farm and sensed a lack of vitality in the land. He also identified the site as a crossing point of several energy channels, believing that once opened through Lithopuncture, the site would become a powerful place of healing.
In 2008, this healing process began. With the intention of reopening a powerful energetic portal to the spiritual world, Marko and his students carved and placed 28 limestone pillars on this sacred site. Each stone features a symbol, many designed by the students, to represent a theme or message for the whole Earth. Marko calls these symbols “cosmograms.”
The seven stone pillars on the opposite side of the driveway were personally designed by Marko and dedicated to Foxhollow Farm. One of these seven stones, depicting a female figure with a snake-like body, symbolizes the overarching essence of Foxhollow Farm: transformation and healing.
Over the years, many visitors have shared how meaningful this site has been to them. We invite you to wander, explore, and immerse yourself in the powerful energy of this stone temple.
